I am a communication scholar and practitioner interested in health communication, organizational communication, thanatology, health services research, and research methods.
My research focuses on communication produced by and surrounding health organizations, examining the different ways in which health is organized and perceived. I focus on communication produced by hospitals, practitioners, patients and on how the general public communicates regarding medical mistakes, patient safety, and death and dying.
I am currently an Associate Professor in The School of Communication Studies at James Madison University. Go Dukes!
